Nicolás Olea, WWF Gold Panda Spain

WWF Spain has given its awards Golden Panda, on the occasion of the celebration of its 50th anniversary. With these awards, WWF Spain has sought to reward career in environmental advocacy renowned people from different sectors.

Throughout its 50 years, WWF has recognized these outstanding individuals who have made their way and, above all, still active with a clear vision of the future in sectors as diverse as economics, research, communication, conservation in the field or court action.
 

Five categories
The categories of these awards are: sustainable economy, nature conservation, communication and awareness, action to protect the environment and conservation awareness.

And it was in this last category that has been awarded INMA. Awarded through the work of Nicolas Olea. Professor of Radiology and Physical Medicine at the University of Granada, his field of research is the influence of environmental agents on health. Some actions over more than 30 years have made Nicolás Olea –research coordinator at the Hospital Universitario San Cecilio–, a global benchmark in environmental medicine.
