Interview Jordi Sunyer, director of the INMA Project
Excited by the extent of calling registered on June 5 in the Casal Pere Quart de Sabadell to mark the Day of Families INMA Project, Dr. Jordi Sunyer was surprised by the degree of maturity who chaired the discussion of that day as well as by the level of the questions that both he and the researchers present were made. INMA Project Director believes necessary to extend such meetings to other cohorts and increase the periodicity of the same.
How to assess the meeting of June 5 in Sabadell?
Very positive for the project and for parents. On the one hand I think the meeting the other day can generate a pull factor for parents who did not attend, and I attended that meet your expectations, mostly because of meeting in person to the researchers. And the researchers enabled them to perceive other dimensions of the work being done.
What conclusions drawn from this experience?
That the project has a good feel for the families, and that such acts is an activity to encourage and perform periodically.
Was there a topic you call particular attention?
The maturity of the debate, the level of questions and receiving the degree was high.
Have a question or comment that is not expected?
I would say no.
Of all the pollutants, what most concerns parents?
I did not see particularly concerned, which is very positive. Perhaps pesticides and chemical elements present in the diet is what causes them more afraid.

At the meeting, stressed the detrimental effects of smoke snuff. Do you think we are all becoming more aware of their harmful effects?
The data is not very encouraging.
What, in his view, the most immediate challenges facing us?
Regarding the project, at least not have the answers on visits, publishing the results and know they communicate to families and society.
Do you think that, given the good response from families, they would have to convene a meeting of these features regularly on the calendar?
The same would be nice to these meetings once every two years.
This type of meeting, do you think would be extended to other cohorts?
No doubt.
Finally, if instead of being the director of INMA project is on the other hand, as a parent more, what question would have made and what would be the answer that would give the doctor Sunyer?
I wish that the researchers explain how we get the money needed to finance this project, which is quite expensive imagine, how the work is audited and would like to know that make good use of these resources. I would also like to know what are the ethical implications, if any, arising from the possible sources. And be curious to know what the daily life of researchers, see what future research in our country, or doing the study INMA largest and useful.
