Vancouver is concerned about the carbon footprint

The organizing committee for the Olympic Games in Vancouver has made a serious commitment in order to ensure maximum neutrality in carbon emissions. To achieve this goal has been scored four guidelines. First at all, they started measuring the carbon footprint since the establishment of the Organizing Committee of Olympic Games in September 2003. They sought ways to reduce as many emissions, and with this intention devised a sustainability plan, which was very important to create an efficient transportation plan. Where carbon emissions could not be reduced or eliminated, the Organizing Committee did everything he could to offset these emissions. The latest major action on carbon management had more to do with awareness, with the encouragement of inspiring new measures to increase awareness and participation in finding solutions to climate change, based on accumulated experience.
