INMA successful meeting in Sabadell
Nearly 200 people were left without free chairs the hall of the Casal Pere Quart de Sabadell INMA to attend the meeting of December 13. The meeting revolved around attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and three scheduled conferences. The large audience of mothers and fathers INMA, teachers of schools in Sabadell, and people interested in child health, and those who were responsible for the areas of education and health of the city of Sabadell, were very attentive during development of the three scheduled conferences.
The first shift, Jordi Sunyer
The person responsible for initiating the afternoon conference was Dr. Jordi Sunyer. CREAL co-director and director of INMA Project began its turn presenting and defining the project leads, who recalled that began in 1997 in the cohort of Ribera d'Ebre and Menorca. "From there we learned a lot and from there we went including new areas, including Sabadell in 2004 when we started the recruitment of 750 children".
After this short introduction, essential to bring all, Dr. Sunyer said some ADHD results INMA Project in schools in the capital of the valley of the children of four years. Started INMA Project director saying that "children are increasingly motivated, this is the impression that all teachers are" that "the children were moved those who watched more television hours" or "children walking most are those with fewer symptoms of TDAH, "concluded the latter being one of the greatest concern to the doctor Sunyer, little time children went.

Dr. Sunyer made it clear from the outset that these data were quite preliminary, "and until the publication of a journal do not consider them real" evidence and put on the table, which is in everyone's mind, and it is none other than "the mother's education is crucial in the intelligence of children." Other data were provided by the co-director of CREAL words were that "the children have ADHD symptoms that girls and that girls have more competence than children," or the "acoustic aspect syndromes in children associated with poor sleep and watch too much TV "or the fact, evidence that children today walk by, when it is" very serious, because the act of walking very or little it is also about to mental health".
The voice of Dr. Amaia Hervàs
After the brilliant speech of the director of INMA Project, were the words of Dr. Amaia Hervas signifcant which filled the space of the Hall of the Casal Pere Quart de Sabadell. The Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, University Hospital Mutua de Terrassa gave a long lecture under the title of 'ADHD children moved, when we have to worry about?'.
Indeed, the intervention of Dr. Amaia Hervas was quite interesting, a lot of information provided, parents and teachers had not stopped taking notes, others who had sold the paper to point and they did not know where to continue writing and not stop other all the time to comment each contributing data to smile or a gesture of complicity with the lecturer. He began his shift by saying that "children with hyperactivity and suffering have always existed." He then presented some of the symptoms suffered by these children, as the deficit of attention, hyperactivity or impulsivity, and the made ??it clear that hyperactive children "suffer a lot. The are good and do not understand what they going on".
Certainly, lots of data provided by Dr. Hervas was a great depth. He informed the audience that pharmacological treatment of ADHD date from 1954 and put on record saying all that often blame parents that children find it hard to pay attention, but "we know that there are genetic components that are this bias, and there are environmental factors that make certain areas of the brain of children are more impaired than others".
He ended his turn with hopeful words, saying that children are evolving that are fortunate to have parents who have relied on, because "children need someone on your side", while warning that there to change the degree of involvement, the role of importance on today's parents in the education system. Fortunately, Dr. Hervas said, "Now the schools are more flexible with these children, who better in small groups when they have a personalized attention when the teacher is more aware of them," concluding with evidence, namely that "The more we engage with these children learn much better for them".

Thus ending a long lecture of Dr. Amaia Hervas, that never became heavy, despite a lot of data provided, given the pace of the narrative that she used and closeness that showed the time to expose their knowledge.
Dr. Gregorio Luri evening closes
INMA The meeting concluded with an address by Dr. Gregorio Luri. Doctor of Philosophy, Dr. Luri provided a degree of irony in the day, which never hurts, with a speech which he entitled 'Is the school a therapeutic institution?'.
This easy-spoken man conclusive data highlighted the complexity of the student to that faced by teachers. Alarmed that "schools are the noisiest Catalan" or the reality that "Catalan children are the most read, and they reach adolescence and stop reading", to show that you have to spread good practice and shoot air the following question: "How much diversity can support teachers?".
Contributor said this 'creature' diary 'Ara', which in his opinion, all children are educable, to call for greater professionalism of teachers, especially with kids and being "aware that the teachers working with young children are extremely important "to end by saying that three of the maxims that are on the minds of many children and parents is impossible: a good school performance, many hours of sleep and spend enough time on the screen.
Arguments were raised by Dr. Gregorio Luri situations which all participants, either as children, as parents or as teachers, we have suffered and, therefore, there was strong reciprocity from the audience. Some members of the same simplified it all by saying that "it was just common sense," but the problem, or what happens, is that not all people common sense is the same or understood in the same way.
Great success
Faced with a subject like that this meeting focused INMA, the truth is that the three conferences exceeded his allotted time, which did not seem to matter much to the audience, who lost no detail of some exhibitions that served as the doctor said Jordi Sunyer, to see three views of the above situation: that of the person making the investigation, the person carrying out the treatment and a philosopher.
Ending a conference on ADHD around December 13, which gave a long way and we have tried very briefly summarized in this notice. Thank once again the willingness and cooperation of the city of Sabadell, as well as Roger Torné Foundation, who made a donation to give to all attendees with a copy of the 'Guide to Children's Environmental Health. A lifelong relationship', and the Fundación "la Caixa", which also helped giving away to all attendees with free tickets to go Cosmocaixa Barcelona. For this activity we have received funding from the ACDC 2011 call (2011ACDC00072) of the Secretary of Universities and Research (Departament d'Economia i Coneixement, Generalitat de Catalunya).
